Viktor Ivan Popoff – April 19, 2005 – October 20, 2026
Viktor Ivan Popoff, just twenty-one years old, passed away on October 20, 2026, after facing Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia with a bravery that inspired everyone who knew him. Born on April 19, 2005, in Folsom, California, Viktor split his time in recent months between Fernley, Nevada, and Folsom California. Viktor grew up with a love for baseball, playing for many years before stepping into the role of youth umpire. He graduated high school in 2022 and recently began writing a book. A true lover of animals, he had a special fondness for his bearded dragon Betty, along with his dogs, chickens, and cats. He adored sports, cheered for his teams, and above all treasured his family deeply. His courage throughout his illness was remarkable. Viktor endured two bone marrow transplants, two stem cell transplants, and countless rounds of chemotherapy, facing each with quiet strength. His sisters Desiree and Anna each served as his bone marrow donors, a testament to the love and courage this family shared for one another. Baptized in 2025, Viktor carried a devout and peaceful faith. In his final weeks, he sought to show his loved ones the path to the Lord, often saying, "that's from the Holy Spirit." His church family at Powerhouse Ministries meant the world to him, from Sunday night service and dinners to youth group trips and Christmas Around Town. Viktor is survived by his parents, Shellie and Ivan; his sisters Kaeti, Anna, Drea, and Desiree; and his brothers Maxum and Miguel. His grandmothers Cindy and Kathleen. A Celebration of Life will be held November 7th at 1pm at Powerhouse Ministries, 11 Natoma Street, Folsom, CA. "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalm 46:10
