Sharon Coleen Branstetter – April 14, 1940 – April 26, 2026
Sharon Coleen Branstetter, 86, of Lodi, California, passed away on April 26, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones after suffering a stroke on April 17. Born on April 14, 1940, in Stockton, California, Sharon lived a full and beautiful life marked by family, faith, and a generous spirit. Sharon grew up in the 40's & 50's with her sister Beverly, close cousins Connie Swaim Harvey and Caroline Perry Van Zant on Washington Street, Stockton, CA. She was raised in a large family filled with faith ; Mother Edith, Grandmother Etta Mae Ulery, one Uncle, three aunts. That family migrated from Oklahoma Dust Bowl to Stockton, CA. At an early age Sharon discovered her gifts as a seamstress, singer, piano player, songwriter. Sharon brought up her three children at Bethel Wayside Chapel in Stockton, CA. While attending Sharon, her mother (Edith)and sister (Beverly) would sing 'How Great Thou Art' together. Sharon worked hard at a peach cannery, a dry cleaners, K-Mart, and as a bank teller. It was at the bank where her coworker Kelli introduced her to Jack Branstetter her father. Sharon married Jack and shared 42 wonderful years together. They lived in Lodi, CA for years before they made their home in Acampo, CA for more than 30 years. They were greatly involved with raising granddaughter Jalayne together. Sharon was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known as an incredible cook, a talented baker whose cookies were legendary, and a skilled seamstress. Sharon and Jack were faithful members of Westside Assembly, now Radiant Life Church of Lodi, for over 40 years. Sharon also dedicated herself to women's jail ministry, carrying her faith into many lives. Her grandchildren were her greatest passion, and she poured her heart into every one of them. Jack, the love of her life, passed away on October 9th, 2025 at nearly 94 years old. Sharon moved in with her daughter Kathy in Lodi. She enjoyed outings for lunch and Easter service. On April 14, 2026, she celebrated her 86th birthday with loved ones at Habenero Hots, just days before her stroke 17 April 2026. Sharon is survived by her sister, Beverly Bradley; her Perry cousins and Connie Harvey. Her children; Brenda Shaw, son in law Stan Shaw; Kathleen Fontaine, Curtis Shelton and daughter-in-law Nancy Shelton; Jack's children; Kevin Branstetter, Karla Shelton spouse Jerry Shelton, and Kelli Anderson. Grandchildren; Joshua Griffith and spouse Sarah. Jalayne Cox, Kayla and Evan Fontaine, Grant and spouse Ellen Shelton and Jacob Shelton; Olivia and Emilee Lozano with brother Isaiah. Cole Cox, and Kayla, Jenna, Joshua Jr., Alyssa, Isaac and Elias Griffith, Lucas Shelton along with many family members and friends who loved her dearly. Sharon now rests in the arms of her Savior, reunited with Jack. Grave side services will be held on 8 May Friday at 10a.m. at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery in Lodi, California. Memorial service to follow at 75 Crescent st, Lodi, Radiant Life Church of Lodi at 11a.m.
