Born on December 7, 1951, in Lowell, Massachusetts, Ron was the only child of the late Robert and Mildred Turner, who preceded him in passing. Ron grew up in the Billerica area and developed an early appreciation for the beauty and craftsmanship of things built to last. That appreciation would shape the course of his life in ways both professional and personal. For many years, he was the sole proprietor of Ron's Antique Refurnishing Company, where he applied his skilled hands and keen eye to breathing new life into treasured pieces. His talent for restoration was more than a trade; it was a true calling. Ron understood that every antique carried a story, and he took pride in preserving those stories for future generations to enjoy. His love of history and preservation extended beyond his workshop. Ron served as Chairman of the Billerica Museum Committee, a role that reflected his deep commitment to the community and its heritage. Though the committee is no longer active, the contributions Ron made during his tenure left a meaningful mark on the town's cultural landscape. When he wasn't working, Ron could often be found indulging his passion for collecting. He was an avid collector of cut glass, with a particular fondness for the intricate patterns and craftsmanship that distinguished fine pieces. He also enjoyed collecting and trading paperweights, a hobby that connected him with fellow enthusiasts and gave him endless pleasure. Ron had the kind of eye that could spot something special in a crowded room, and his collections were a reflection of his refined taste and genuine curiosity about the world of antiquities. Ron was a man who kept things simple and real. He didn't need a lot of fanfare, but the people who knew him understood the warmth and generosity he carried with him. He is survived by a large and loving extended family, including his cousins Kimberly Turner of Houston Tx, Marty Turner of North Carolina, Debbie Perino of Florida, Scott Turner of Dracut, Ma., David Turner of Pennsylvania , Jimmy and Joanne Hololob of Long Island NY, Maryanne Turner of Liwell Ma., Amy Turner of Colorado, Jacinta Turner of Arizona, Debbie Turner, Margret Turner, John Turner of Long Island NY, and Nancy Turner of Lowell Ma., Teri And Roland of Concord NH, Edward and Barbara Smith of Florida, Daniel Smith of Billerica, Ma., James and Diane of Pelham NH, George Smith of Belmont NH, Dennis and Patricia Smith of Methuen MA., and Joe Smith Of Billerica, Ma. Each of them held a special place in his life, and together they formed the family that meant the world to him. Ron held a quiet faith rooted in Christianity, and his family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in God's care, reunited with his beloved parents. Funeral services will remain private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Ron's memory.
