Paul Edward Gatewood – September 18, 1969 – April 28, 2026

Paul Edward Gatewood, known to most as Ed, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on April 28, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on September 18, 1969, in Anderson, Indiana, Ed grew up in the community he loved, attended Anderson High School, and began building a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and a whole lot of laughter. Ed got his start managing a Frisch's Big Boy before finding his way into foundry work in Indiana, where his dedication quickly earned him a promotion into management. That path eventually led him to the Belvidere Assembly plant in Belvidere, Illinois, and it was there that his life truly changed. While working in Belvidere, Ed met the love of his life, Jennie. The two married, and shortly after their son Dalton was born, they made the move to the Lake Wisconsin area, putting down roots in a place that would become home. Two and a half years later, their daughter Devin arrived, and two and a half years after that, their son Daxton completed the family. He commuted to Belvidere for many years before finding a job closer to home at Teel Plastics Inc. in Baraboo Wisconsin so he could spend more time with his family. Ed was, simply put, a good man. He loved his wife and children with everything he had, and anyone who knew him could see it. He was a good boss, a loyal friend, and the kind of person who made people feel at ease. His sense of humor was something special, and he never passed up the chance for a good laugh. Whether he was out on the lake, tearing around on jet skis, camping under the stars, or sitting around a fire trading jokes with friends, Ed knew how to enjoy life. He loved a fun night at the casino, lazy days at the sandbars, and, most of all, time spent with his family. Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Faye Gatewood, his father, Richard Allen Gatewood and father-in-law Charles Edward Brown. . He is survived by his loving wife, Jennie Gatewood; his sons, Dalton Gatewood and Daxton Gatewood; his daughter, Devin Gatewood. Grandfther-in-law Glenn Stadtler (Jan Weikenaut). His mother-in-laws, Barbara Stadtler (Gus Tsioutsias) and Kay Brown. His brother, Chris Gatewood. Brother-in-laws Robert (Melissa) Ehrler, Anthony (MaryAnn) Ehrler, Gregory (Shari) Ehrler, and Erin (Tameika) Brown. His sister-in-law Kathryn Ehrler. Many nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends. Ed will be missed by so many people who knew him. While we mourn his missing presence in our lives, we celebrate the man and father he was. A celebration of life potluck will be held in Ed's honor on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Helleckson Road, Poynette, Wisconsin 53955.
