Noble Lee Abendroth – October 1, 1937 – July 22, 2026

Noble Lee Abendroth, 88, of Slaughters, Kentucky, passed away on July 22, 2026. Born on October 1, 1937, in Illinois, Noble lived a life full of purpose, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to the people and passions he held dear. Noble was the son of the late Dean Steele Abendroth and Electa Lee Abendroth. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, a commitment to service that would define much of his life. Noble obtained his teaching credentials at Murray State University and became a welding instructor at Madisonville Community College, a job that gave him great joy. Noble was a father, a husband, and a friend to many, and those who knew him would tell you he filled each of those roles with everything he had. Noble was known for his kindness, his sharp wit, and an intelligence that could light up any conversation. He had a generous spirit and a loving heart that drew people to him naturally. When he wasn't spending time with family and friends, you could find him out on a motorcycle, elbow deep in the engine of a car or tractor he was refurbishing, or tending to his catfish. He loved working with his hands, giving the cars and tractors he refurbished to family members and sharing the fish with everyone. Noble brought the same care and attention to his hobbies that he brought to his relationships. Noble was deeply involved in his community, giving his time and energy to the Salvation Army, the Christian Motorcycle Association, First United Methodist Church, and New Salem Methodist Church. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he lived it out every day through acts of service and love for others. He trusted in the Lord with his whole heart, and his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the arms of his Savior. Noble was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Abendroth, and his parents. He is survived by his son, Loral James Abendroth; his daughter, Jean Lee Abendroth-Pridgen; and stepdaughter Billie Shay, who was a special part of his life; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dale Carden officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in Colbert Cemetery near Harrisburg, Illinois.
