Henrietta Dawson-Geres – February 19, 1973 – May 27, 2026

Henrietta Dawson-Geres, known lovingly to family and friends as "Henny," passed away on May 27, 2026, in Orlando, Florida, due to complications of an unexpected illness. She was 53 years old. Born on February 19, 1973, in Monsey, New York, Henrietta was the daughter of the late DeGraffinreed Dawson and the late Osie Johnson Dawson. From an early age, she possessed a deep love for art, a passion that enriched her life and inspired those around her. Her creative spirit touched everyone who knew her and remained a defining part of who she was. While art held a special place in her heart, Henrietta always considered her greatest achievements to be her children. Through her marriage to Gregory C. Geres, Jr., she built a life filled with love and devotion. Together they raised four children, Autumn Geres, Rain Geres Martin, Gregory Geres Jr., and Adel Geres, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life. Her love grew even deeper with the arrival of her grandsons, Damien and Jonathan, who were a tremendous source of pride and happiness for her. Henrietta is survived by her devoted husband, Gregory C. Geres, Jr.; her four beloved children, Autumn, Rain, Gregory Jr., and Adel; her two cherished grandsons, Damien and Jonathan; her sisters, Valerie Woods-Hubbard, Sandra Brown, and Laretta Thompson; her brother, Timothy Dawson; her father-in-law, Gregory Geres, Sr.; her mother-in-law, Kathy Geres; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carrie Geres and Scott Geres. She was preceded in death by her parents, DeGraffinreed Dawson and Osie Johnson Dawson and her brother, Larry Woods. Henrietta will be also be missed dearly by her nephews Lawrence Woods Meyer, Hayden Brown, Michael Thompson,Tarrell Hubbard and Carter Dawson; her nieces Dallas and Dakota Dawson; and her brothers-in-law, Callis Brown, Roger Hubbard and Jimmy Thompson, Jr. and sister-in-law, Devon Dawson. She leaves behind a wide circle of extended family and friends whose lives were made brighter by her warmth, her creativity, and her generous heart. Henny's memory will live on through the love she poured into her family and the beauty she brought into the world through her art. She will be profoundly and forever missed.
