Conrad Solomon Dean – 1940 – 2015
Conrad Solomon Dean, 75, of London, England, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2015, at the Hospice House in London. Known affectionately as "Solo" by those who loved him, he was born on December 13, 1940, in London, England, to the late Ira John and Nellie (Nida) Dean. Conrad spent much of his life in the gold and diamond business, where he built several successful enterprises and provided employment and opportunity to numerous families in the area. A man of remarkable warmth and generosity, he was a sweet, open, and loving father to all who knew him. He was deeply family oriented and gave his love freely and without reservation. His life was enriched by a passion for music and concerts, a love of travel and hiking, and a deep enthusiasm for sports. He was an avid soccer fan and a lifelong, devoted supporter of Manchester United. Conrad was preceded in death by his siblings: infant brother Carol Dean; Deloris (George) Pinkerman; Redith (Lew Charles) Dean; Donald (Judy) Dean; Shirley (John) Jordan; and Sue (Larry) Brown. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon B. Gibson; his son, John B. Dean, and his daughter Cortnai J. Dean; his daughter, Mellisa H. Dean; Hanna Hardy of Battle Creek, Michigan; his grandchildren, Remington, Bearrett, and Hunter Ruth of Harrod, Michigan; his sister, Lora (Darrius) Dean; and his brothers, Anderson Dean, Nelson Pickford Dean, and James Maddison. A devout Christian, Conrad lived his life guided by faith, grace, and an unwavering trust in the Lord. His kindness and devotion were a living testament to the values he held sacred. Services will be held at Leverton and Sons Ltd Funeral Directors in London on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation beginning two hours prior. Burial will follow at Highgate Cemetery. "May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
