Christopher Alan Stewart, age 33, of Madison, Tennessee, passed away on March 28, 2026. Born on August 12, 1992, in Garden City, Michigan, Christopher lived a life rich with music, laughter, and deep love for the people around him. From the moment he first picked up an electric guitar as a kid, Christopher knew he had found his calling. That early spark grew into a lifelong passion that carried him from garage rehearsals to concert halls, local venues, and community stages across the years. He performed with a variety of bands and ensembles, always bringing his own unique artistic voice to every project. He recorded and contributed to several musical works that showcased not just his technical skill but his soul, and his guitar playing had a way of reaching people, whether they were sitting in the front row or catching a few notes from across the room. But Christopher was never content to keep his gifts to himself. He was a generous and patient mentor who loved teaching music theory to his students, always finding a way to make even the trickiest concepts click. He poured himself into the local musicians' group, helped organize community jam nights, played in the church band, volunteered with youth music programs, and gave his time to charity concerts. His contributions to the musical community, through performance, teaching, and creative collaboration, leave a legacy that will continue to resonate for years to come. Those who knew Christopher best will tell you he was one of the most compassionate and selfless people they ever met. He had a huge heart and an even bigger sense of humor, always quick to crack a joke or lighten the mood when someone needed it most. Whether he was on stage, in a teaching session, or just hanging out with his family, he had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and a little lighter than before. When he wasn't making music, Christopher loved nothing more than spending time with the people he cherished. Family was everything to him. Christopher is survived by his loving partner, Stacy Bingam-Stewart; his son, Jackson Stewart; his mother, Tonya Stewart; his sisters, Nova Hines and Tiffany Scott; and his aunt, Sandra Stewart. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Hines. He leaves behind a wide circle of fellow musicians, students, and friends who will carry his memory forward. Christopher walked his path with a gentle and mindful spirit, guided by the Buddhist principles of compassion, presence, and interconnection. Those who loved him take comfort in knowing that the kindness he put into the world continues to ripple outward, touching lives in ways both seen and unseen. A memorial service will be held on April 1, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Madison Funeral Home in Nashville, Tennessee, with William McMullin and Boyice James Jr. officiating. Graveside services will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers or donations, we invite you to honor Christopher's gentle spirit with a simple act of kindness.
