Brenda Louise Ellis, a woman whose beautiful smile and infectious laughter could light up any room, passed away on March 20, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was 63 years old. Born on September 30, 1962, in Los Angeles, California, Brenda lived a life full of love, faith, and joy that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Brenda grew up in Los Angeles, where she was raised in a close-knit family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Barbara Ellis and the late Ezell Ellis Sr., and the cherished granddaughter of the late Adele and Walter Barnett. From an early age, Brenda had a spirit that drew people to her. She had a big heart and a gift for making others laugh, never letting life's hardships steal her joy. She cared deeply about the people she loved and showed it every single day. Brenda married the love of her life, Glen Clark, and together they built a family that she considered one of her proudest achievements. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Maurice Clark, Cindy Moss, and Genell Clark, pouring her heart into raising them and guiding them through life. If you ever wanted to find Brenda at a gathering, all you had to do was follow the music. She loved to dance and was always the life of the party. Whether it was pop, rap, or disco from the 70s and 80s, Brenda was on her feet and moving. The Dog Catcher was her absolute favorite, and she could get anyone up and dancing right along with her. That energy, that spirit, that beautiful smile of hers will never be forgotten by those who shared those moments with her. Brenda was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. While living in Los Angeles, she attended Praise of Zion Baptist Church, and after moving to Las Vegas, she found her church home at Word of Life Christian Church. Her belief in God was the foundation of everything she did, and her faith carried her through every season of life. She trusted in the Lord completely and lived her life as a testament to His grace and love. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Clark; her parents, Barbara Ellis and Ezell Ellis Sr.; her grandparents, Adele and Walter Barnett; and her brothers, Anthony Wilson and Archie Blankenship. She is survived by her son, Maurice Clark; her daughters, Cindy Moss and Genell Clark; her brother, James Ellis; her brother, Van Wilson; her sister, Cynthia Ellis; her grandchildren, Delnesha White, Tojuan Rumford, Aaron Hammack Jr., Isis Clark, Glynn Davidson, Kasiena Gusta Arianna, Maurice Nu Harbour, Jaylen Harbour, and Indaka Moss; and three great-grandsons, along with a host of family and friends who loved her dearly. Her cousin Sheila Barnett wrote these words in her memory: "Brenda, you were in my mind today, but that is nothing new. I think about you all the time, especially since spring appeared. You tossed off your winter coat and burst through spring so quickly. Before we knew it, you were gone. You didn't stop to say goodbye. God called you home, so you had to go. I think about you every day, and I will hold your memories deep in my heart, for I know you will always be there. I love you, cousin Brenda, with all my heart, for you are truly missed. Now it's time to sleep until we meet again. Love, cousin Sheila Barnett." Her sister Cindy shared these words: "When I die, please don't cry. I love you so, I'll never let you go. You're in my heart as I climb the stairs and open the door to heaven's care. I am only sleeping for a while till God sings out loud and gives us a trail, for to Him we shall bow. Take your life, be successful and secure, and remember the times when it was all good. Just remember one day when I shall pass away, hoping and praying that you will meet me halfway.
