Allen Bradley Sanders – 1962 – 2026
Allen Bradley Sanders, a devoted husband, father, grandfather (Papa), and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away on September 29, 2026, at the age of 63. He left behind a legacy of faith, service, and love that touched the lives of all who knew him. Allen was a man of remarkable depth and character. From an early age, he carried within him a curiosity and capability that would come to define his life, a vast knowledge of how to fix or build almost anything, paired with a heart that was always willing to help others. Those who knew him describe him as the very definition of a real man: kind, funny, intelligent, generous, strong, courageous, empathetic, and genuine. Allen proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before dedicating himself to a distinguished career in law enforcement. He joined the California Highway Patrol, serving faithfully for 29 years and earning a promotion to the rank of Sergeant. His commitment to public safety extended beyond his duties on the road. For 21 of those years, Allen simultaneously taught Accident Investigation at Butte College Law Enforcement Academy, passing on his vast knowledge and experience to the next generation of officers. He was admired and respected by many, and his impact on his profession and his community was felt far and wide. At the heart of Allen's life was his beloved wife, Bobbi. He loved her immensely and always made certain she knew it. Their forty-year marriage stood as a testament to devotion and enduring love. Together they built a rich and rewarding life, sharing adventures and creating memories that their family will cherish forever. Allen was a true outdoorsman. He loved four-wheeling in the Jeep he built with his own hands, a reflection of his remarkable ability to fix or build almost anything. He renovated or remodeled almost every house he and Bobbi owned, as well as the homes of his children. He enjoyed boating, camping, target practicing, and traveling with his family. Among his cherished traditions was the annual Christmas tree hunting trip with loved ones in the National Forest, an occasion that drew his family close and created memories that will be cherished for years to come. He loved game nights with the family, filling his home with laughter and togetherness. Above all, Allen loved Jesus, and his faith was the foundation of everything he was. He shared that faith openly and generously, right up to the very end. Even in the midst of pain and while facing death, he remained a steadfast witness for the Lord, a living example of grace and courage. His final words captured the heart of who he was: "I love you all. Remember be a witness wherever you are." His impact was felt by so many, and his legacy of faith will continue through those he inspired. He is survived by his devoted wife, Bobbi; his daughter, Rachelle Scheer, and her husband, John; his son, Bradley Sanders, and his wife, Rosanna; his beloved grandchildren, Levi Scheer, Emmitt Scheer, and Sadie Scheer; his brother, Michael Sanders, and his wife Donna; his sister, Linda Nelson, and her husband, Dan; his father, Eugene Sanders; and his stepmother, Marcia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Sanders. He also leaves behind his cherished dogs, Roxie and Bitzer, and his horse, Rocket; preceded in death by his beloved dogs, Jack and Molly. He leaves behind countless others whose lives he touched through his wisdom, his kindness, and his example. His generosity of spirit and his readiness to help anyone in need will long be remembered by family, friends, and the many who had the privilege of knowing him. A Memorial Service celebrating Allen's life will be held at the Valley Christian Family Church in Redding, following a short committal ceremony with military honors at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo, honoring his service to his country. Arrangements are cared for by Allen and Dahl Funeral Chapel in Anderson (530) 365-5466. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7).
